You may go into preterm labor the moment you hit the 24th week, so you need to discuss some of the symptoms of preterm labor when you are 25 weeks pregnant. You will know you have preterm labor when your water breaks or cervix dilates. You can expect that at this stage your baby is about 14 inches from head to toe and has reached half his birth weight. He is still considerably small and has developed all the features of a human being. He still needs to have some baby fat as this has not developed fully in the body of the baby. Do not work out when you feel tired and dizzy, and when you take your daily walk you need to stop when you feel short of breath. Don’t participate in exercises that will make you move too fast or change positions suddenly. Drink a lot of water and take time to rest and make sure that you prop your feet up when you do so. Do not stand or sit for long periods of time, since this will mean that you have to deal with varicose veins.

You need a lot more iron now more than ever since you need to supply your baby with enough blood as well. Mothers who are anemic or have been anemic before will have to follow this up more often than those who do not. They may have to use iron supplements to get that extra iron into their systems before the birth of their babies. You may want to exercise the specific exercises that will help when you give birth; ask your attendant to help you with that. You will be checked for many things when you visit your doctor in this point of the pregnancy. The doctor will want to know if your baby has been kicking up a storm or if the heartbeat has been regular. He will also want to know if your cervix is strong enough to hold the baby and if there are chances of preterm labor.
